A collision led to Real Cruzeiro FC getting a freekick after 2 minutes play. Fábio Pontes hit a great ball. After 4 minutes of play, A A Arizona's Chicão Freire made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Ivo Amaral was left in no man's land by his defense there! The supporters of Real Cruzeiro FC booed when A A Arizona was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 6 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luís Fabiano Branco didn't get a good kick on the ball. Valério Paranaense could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 9th minute of the match, but Ivo Amaral made a huge save. Real Cruzeiro FC's Ivo Amaral played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luís Fabiano Branco in the 11th minute of play. In the 16th minute, Valério Paranaense left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The A A Arizona fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. After 19 minutes of play, A A Arizona's Valério Paranaense made it 3-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Ivo Amaral was left in no man's land by his defense there! Falcão Mendes hit a great freekick 26 minutes into the match. The crowd rose to their feet as Pedro Luís Bertassi kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Ivo Amaral. That made the score 5-0 in the 30 minute of play. 33 minutes into the game, Pedro Luís Bertassi cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 6-0. Ivo Amaral was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Pedro Luís Bertassi scored 8-0 in the 42nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Ivo Amaral, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Ivo Amaral made a fantastic save in the 46th minute, when Pedro Luís Bertassi sent off a good shot on target. 47 minutes into the match, Real Cruzeiro FC's goalkeeper Ivo Amaral had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Valério Paranaense. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 8-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Valério Paranaense to strike the kick off in the second half. Pedro Luís Bertassi took the ball and in the 55 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Ivo Amaral. Ivo Amaral dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 10-0. 59 minutes into the match, Luís Fabiano Branco had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Ivo Amaral. Real Cruzeiro FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Luís Fabiano Branco was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 11-0. Luís Fabiano Branco sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Chicão Freire in the 67th minute of play forced Real Cruzeiro FC's goalkeeper Ivo Amaral to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Real Cruzeiro FC's Ivo Amaral played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Valério Paranaense in the 68th minute of play. In the 69th minute, Valério Paranaense ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ivo Amaral was frozen by the shot and now it was 12-0. Ivo Amaral stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Valério Paranaense's shot from short distance in the 72nd minute. In the 75th minute Valério Paranaense shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ivo Amaral saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Valério Paranaense blasted a shot towards the goal in the 77th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Ivo Amaral having to make a save. After 80 minutes, Falcão Mendes mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Real Cruzeiro FC and the A A Arizona players grew even worse after the yellow card. Falcão Mendes kicked well hit freekick during the 80th minute of the match. In the 82nd minute, Valério Paranaense made a precise shot to the right of Ivo Amaral. Real Cruzeiro FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 13-0. Ivo Amaral showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luís Fabiano Branco, who was totally free with the ball in the 88th minute. 89 minutes into the match, Luís Fabiano Branco had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Ivo Amaral. After a rather tough play, Real Cruzeiro FC's Júnior Salles got a free kick in the 93rd minute. Ivo Amaral took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Valério Paranaense, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A A Arizona's Pedro Luís Bertassi got a good chance for a goal in the 96th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. A A Arizona had played much better football throughout.
