JFSP's Jeferson Aguiar got a good chance for a goal in the 4th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ismael Neiva in the 9th minute of play forced Laranja Mecânica FSCMZ's goalkeeper Chiquinho Guerra to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Kléberson Laguna showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Diego Armando Orange in the 15th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nilton Bittencourt in the 20th minute of play forced JFSP's goalkeeper Kléberson Laguna to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. JFSP's Kléberson Laguna played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Flavinho Toscano in the 28th minute of play. Chiquinho Guerra showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ismael Neiva, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. Laranja Mecânica FSCMZ's Chiquinho Guerra proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 36th minute of the match, managed to save Laranja Mecânica FSCMZ from getting a goal against them. In the 41st match minute, Laranja Mecânica FSCMZ was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Toninho Orange to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in Laranja Mecânica FSCMZ's zone, Ismael Neiva stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Chiquinho Guerra came out of the goal and Ismael Neiva tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Manoel Paraense hit a great freekick 47 minutes into the match. In the 48th minute, Edinson Gentenaar left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The JFSP fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Edinson Gentenaar was the one to do the kick off. In the 54th minute, Ismael Neiva left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The JFSP fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. In the 68th minute Ismael Neiva shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Chiquinho Guerra saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of JFSP booed when Laranja Mecânica FSCMZ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 69 match minutes in a wonderful position. Flavinho Toscano didn't get a good kick on the ball. Laranja Mecânica FSCMZ's Chiquinho Guerra played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jeferson Aguiar in the 71st minute of play. After some careless play in the Laranja Mecânica FSCMZ defense, Jeferson Aguiar kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Chiquinho Guerra. The Laranja Mecânica FSCMZ fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Chiquinho Guerra should have stopped the shot. 82 minutes in the game, Diego Armando Orange fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Kléberson Laguna having to interfere. Nilton Bittencourt struck a weak shot in the 86th minute. Kléberson Laguna didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Laranja Mecânica FSCMZ. If Flavinho Toscano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Kléberson Laguna made an important save on a dangerous shot by Flavinho Toscano in the 99th minute. JFSP's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
