Cornelio Mino took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Aquilino Lauren, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Vinicio Bidari made a fantastic save in the 12th minute, when Matias Eder sent off a good shot on target. Águilas Poblanas's Cornelio Mino played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jairo Lizar in the 15th minute of play. In the 16th minute, Tiburcio Firman hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Santa Luis took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 17th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Cornelio Mino. Águilas Poblanas's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. 19 minutes into the match, Águilas Poblanas's goal looked a bit too open when Santa Luis came free, but Cornelio Mino reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to The Old Boys getting a freekick after 22 minutes play. Aquilino Lauren hit a great ball. Jairo Lizar sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Cornelio Mino showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Santa Luis in the 31st minute of the match. 33 minutes into the match, Águilas Poblanas's goal looked a bit too open when Aquilino Lauren came free, but Cornelio Mino reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 38th minute of the game, Sixto Cloyo landed unfortunately after trying to head the ball, and pulled a muscle in the back, so badly that he had to leave the field. The Old Boys's Feliciano Leoiar was substituted for Sixto Cloyo. The supporters of The Old Boys booed when Águilas Poblanas was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 40 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tiburcio Firman didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 41st minute of the match Santa Luis sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Cornelio Mino skillfully saved the ball. After 44 played minutes Águilas Poblanas got a freekick which was hit by Tiburcio Firman. After 45 played minutes, The Old Boys's Santa Luis shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Cornelio Mino came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in The Old Boys reached it. Feliciano Leoiar sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Jairo Lizar recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 50th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 58th match minute, Águilas Poblanas was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nicolas Truylos to maneuver through the defense. 59 minutes into the match, Águilas Poblanas's goalkeeper Cornelio Mino had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Santa Luis. Vinicio Bidari showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Justo Sagrario in the 61st minute of the match. Vinicio Bidari showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Justo Sagrario, who was totally free with the ball in the 61st minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Roberto Mateus during the 62nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 62nd minute, Roberto Mateus hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in Águilas Poblanas's zone, Jairo Lizar stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Cornelio Mino came out of the goal and Jairo Lizar tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Santa Luis got free with Cornelio Mino in the 64th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 68th minute, Aquilino Lauren ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Cornelio Mino was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jairo Lizar in the 70th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Cornelio Mino saved Águilas Poblanas from getting behind. Cornelio Mino made an important save on a dangerous shot by Aquilino Lauren in the 71st minute. The supporters of Águilas Poblanas booed when The Old Boys was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 72 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jacobo Gomesano didn't get a good kick on the ball. The crowd rose to their feet as The Old Boys's Feliciano Leoiar slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Cornelio Mino. That made the score 0-3 after 75 minutes of play. 78 minutes into the match, The Old Boys's Aquilino Lauren sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Cornelio Mino narrowly saved just below the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jairo Lizar in the 79th minute of play forced Águilas Poblanas's goalkeeper Cornelio Mino to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Cornelio Mino was a little too slow when Jairo Lizar got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 84th minute. The score was now 0-4. Gustavo Chabier charged in rather forcefully in the 87th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Gustavo Chabier the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 87th minute, Gustavo Chabier hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Águilas Poblanas's Matias Eder got a good chance for a goal in the 94th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The The Old Boys supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing The Old Boys would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
