The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Santiago Perucho charged in rather forcefully in the 3rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. An unexpectedly hard shot by Franco Mussoll in the 6th minute of play forced DALO S.C.'s goalkeeper Ramos Pejuan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 8th minute, Franco Mussoll made a precise shot to the right of Ramos Pejuan. DALO S.C.'s defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. In the 20th minute Norberto Trespuentes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Zuriko Lagala saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 24thth minute of the game Franco Mussoll who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but DALO S.C.'s Ramos Pejuan was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Ramos Pejuan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Franco Mussoll in the 26th minute of play. After 29 played minutes Inter de Guayaquil FC got a freekick which was hit by Mellington Chirivoga. Manolo Uquillas could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 30th minute of the match, but Zuriko Lagala made a huge save. Ramos Pejuan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Franco Mussoll in the 34th minute of play. Ramos Pejuan took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Franco Mussoll, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 39 minutes of play, Inter de Guayaquil FC's Franco Mussoll made it 0-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Ramos Pejuan was left in no man's land by his defense there! Ramos Pejuan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Franco Mussoll in the 45th minute of play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Mellington Chirivoga to make the kick off. The audience thought a goal was coming when Franco Mussoll got free with Ramos Pejuan in the 52nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 57th minute of the match Bottero Ramallal sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Ramos Pejuan skillfully saved the ball. In the 62nd minute, Franco Mussoll got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Inter de Guayaquil FC's Zuriko Lagala played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Manolo Uquillas in the 69th minute of play. 72 minutes into the game, Inter de Guayaquil FC's Franco Mussoll nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Ramos Pejuan made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-4. The referee ignored Inter de Guayaquil FC's protests and gave Juan-Carlos Alamon a yellow card for diving instead.
