Altermundi FC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Dante Baros in the 14th minute. At last the ball reached Mauro Lopes at the corner, ending with a kick to difficult to stop for the goalkeeper of Algarrobo. 1-0. Petr Čech made a fantastic save in the 18th minute, when Mauro Lopes sent off a good shot on target. Rollo Duguid was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Rollo Duguid showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Adriel Argandoña, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. After a defensive mix-up in Altermundi FC's zone, Desiderio Marti stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rollo Duguid came out of the goal and Desiderio Marti tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Algarrobo's Petr Čech proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 39th minute of the match, managed to save Algarrobo from getting a goal against them. Petr Čech was out of position in the 42 minute of play, and Mauro Lopes capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Mauro Lopes really showed his touch with that goal: 2-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Adriel Argandoña in the 46th minute of play forced Altermundi FC's goalkeeper Rollo Duguid to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Altermundi FC's Mauro Lopes got a good chance for a goal in the 47th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Mauro Lopes stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Petr Čech took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rogelio Luco, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 54th minute Altermundi FC were awarded a corner. Dante Baros went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner led Altermundi FC's Dante Baros to fire away a dangerous shot which Petr Čech despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rogelio Luco in the 56th minute of play forced Algarrobo's goalkeeper Petr Čech to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 58th minute the ball was on its way in behind Algarrobo's goalkeeper Petr Čech, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After having played for 62 minutes, Rogelio Luco managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Altermundi FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Rogelio Luco was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Petr Čech came out of the goal in the 64th minute to try and stop a shot by Altermundi FC's Rogelio Luco. But to his dismay, Rogelio Luco quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-1. Alberto Tassara hit a great freekick 67 minutes into the match. In the 74th minute Rogelio Luco shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Petr Čech saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Mauro Lopes recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 77th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 79th minute, Rogelio Luco got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Altermundi FC's Rollo Duguid proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 81st minute of the match, managed to save Altermundi FC from getting a goal against them. After some careless play in the Algarrobo defense, Rogelio Luco kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Petr Čech. The Algarrobo fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Petr Čech should have stopped the shot. The referee felt a red card was in order, 86 minutes into the game, when Julio Arriaran put in a rough tackle. After 87 played minutes Altermundi FC got a freekick which was hit by Julio Arriaran. Altermundi FC made a substitution. Xacobo Valdovinos replaced Inocente Luna. Julio Arriaran hit a great freekick 87 minutes into the match. 89 minutes in the game Francisco Idoate got a great opportunity which he missed by shooting outside the goal. In the 93rd minute Rogelio Luco shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Petr Čech saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Altermundi FC's Mauro Lopes in the 94th minute got a chance for a shot 94th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Algarrobo's goalie prevented a goal. Algarrobo's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
