Stanislav Filipov didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Venancio Abalos went, in the 24th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. The HIT Gorica fans' excitement grew in the 29th match minute when HIT Gorica's Duško Turnšek looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-3 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. An unexpectedly hard shot by Duško Turnšek in the 32nd minute of play forced NGOP Football Club's goalkeeper Stanislav Filipov to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. NGOP Football Club's Stanislav Filipov played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Duško Turnšek in the 34th minute of play. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When Duško Turnšek came up free with the goalie in the 53rd minute, the HIT Gorica fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Duško Turnšek couldn't finish the play. Richard Koštomaj's late challenge caught a NGOP Football Club's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Richard Koštomaj helped the player get up and apologised. In the 57th match minute, HIT Gorica was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Richard Koštomaj to maneuver through the defense. Rastislav Tomič hit a great freekick 85 minutes into the match. Zlatko Goričan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Stanislav Filipov having to interfere. When the match was over HIT Gorica could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than NGOP Football Club throughout the match.
