An unexpectedly hard shot by Ákos Bökönyi in the 2nd minute of play forced SÉ SE's goalkeeper Gyula Grosics to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 7thth minute of the game Mátyás Török who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Rákóczifalva SE's D.J. Pytka was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The supporters of Rákóczifalva SE booed when SÉ SE was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 11 match minutes in a wonderful position. Pál Pulai didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, SÉ SE's Norbert Rózsa got a free kick in the 13th minute. 19 minutes into the match, SÉ SE's goal looked a bit too open when Márió Pálffy came free, but Gyula Grosics reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to Rákóczifalva SE getting a freekick after 22 minutes play. Péter Barabás hit a great ball. Pál Pulai charged in rather forcefully in the 33rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Pál Pulai the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Rákóczifalva SE booed when SÉ SE was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 33 match minutes in a wonderful position. Pál Pulai didn't get a good kick on the ball. Rákóczifalva SE's D.J. Pytka proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 36th minute of the match, managed to save Rákóczifalva SE from getting a goal against them. After 41 played minutes SÉ SE got a freekick which was hit by András Hámori. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Gyula Grosics showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Márió Pálffy in the 57th minute of the match. Rákóczifalva SE were awarded a corner in the 58th minute after SÉ SE's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Ákos Karsai took the corner. Ákos Karsai made a great header on Rákóczifalva SE's corner, it was just that SÉ SE's Gyula Grosics managed to reach the ball for a save. After a rather tough play, Rákóczifalva SE's Gábor Markos got a free kick in the 62nd minute. A collision led to Rákóczifalva SE getting a freekick after 66 minutes play. Koppány Orosz hit a great ball. 73 minutes into the game, one of Rákóczifalva SE:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Norbert Rózsa shot the penalty kick by force right in the crossbar. No goal. D.J. In the 94th minute Norbert Rózsa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but D.J. Pytka saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
