Velez's Fulgencio Rioja played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Witomir Perkowski in the 42nd minute of play. Fulgencio Rioja showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Piotr Kozlowski in the 45th minute of the match. When the match had gone on for 46 minutes, Piotr Kozlowski put it in 3-0 from a short distance just to the right of Fulgencio Rioja.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Esteban Ferman stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. A collision led to Velez getting a freekick after 51 minutes play. Adam Matysek came out and tried to block the shot, but Esteban Ferman slotted it home off the left post making it 5-1 in the 84th minute. When the match clock showed 87 minutes, the score became 6-1 when Piotr Kozlowski sped through Velez's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Fulgencio Rioja. Velez's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
