After a rather tough play, Westra Aros SK's Stig Waller got a free kick in the 17th minute. Elof Karlsson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Reese Otto, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 24 minutes of play, Westra Aros SK's Gökberk Özgenc made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Rhys Dimmock was left in no man's land by his defense there! Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 47 minutes into the game, Zamalek FC's Reese Otto nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Elof Karlsson made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-1. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Leonardo Lane to make the kick off. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Gökberk Özgenc in the 52nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Rhys Dimmock prevented the ball from getting in the gole. With a little luck, Westra Aros SK's Elof Karlsson got control of the ball when Mugurel Balaeț tried to sneak it across the goal line. Diogo Queirós dejectedly held out his arms as if to ask why the ball hadn't gone in. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Reese Otto in the 66th managed to get into a good position. In the 73rd minute, Gökberk Özgenc got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Normando Portillo hit a great freekick 79 minutes into the match. In the 81st minute Daron Joseph shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Elof Karlsson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
