Lartaun Ibar showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ömer Rıza Yeten, who was totally free with the ball in the 37th minute. 41 minutes into the game, Hernan Chico recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Bedrettin Kamuran. Hernan Chico showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-1. Olavo Guerreiro scored 2-2 in the 46th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Lartaun Ibar, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Romeo Lechințan made the kick off in the second half.
