In the 20th minute the ball was on its way in behind Senegal's goalkeeper Alistair Holbrook, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Aysouraguán's José Vítor Domingues got a good chance for a goal in the 23rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Richard Berry hit a great freekick 24 minutes into the match. In the 29th minute, Rory Daly got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that José Vítor Domingues couldn't finish the play. Senegal's Alistair Holbrook played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by José Vítor Domingues in the 65th minute of play. Jaizki Valverde made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rory Daly in the 67th minute of play. Alistair Holbrook came out of the goal in the 87th minute to try and stop a shot by Aysouraguán's José Vítor Domingues. But to his dismay, José Vítor Domingues quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-4. Aysouraguán's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
