Pablo Barro recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 2nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Costante Canosa received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Georg Hannesson came out and tried to block the shot, but Costante Canosa slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 4th minute. The supporters of Morata booed when Grimmu Tröllin was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 7 match minutes in a wonderful position. Marten Oddgeirsson didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 8th minute, Morata's Pablo Barro dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-0. Hagbarður Nikulásarson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Justo Radaban hit a great freekick 14 minutes into the match. Skúta Ákason took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 14th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Victor Cabanela. Morata's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Victor Cabanela took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Skúta Ákason, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 17th play minutes Hagbarður Nikulásarson shot 2-1, a short shot which went by Victor Cabanela and just under the crossbar into goal. Victor Cabanela showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Skúta Ákason in the 21st minute of the match. After some careless play in the Morata defense, Geirarður Ingimundarson kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Victor Cabanela. The Morata fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Victor Cabanela should have stopped the shot. Hagbarður Nikulásarson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 26th minute. Victor Cabanela tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Grimmu Tröllin's Georg Hannesson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lauro Sauca in the 28th minute of play. Victor Cabanela showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Skúta Ákason, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. When Geirarður Ingimundarson fell near the penalty area in the 32nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Grimmu Tröllin's protests and gave Geirarður Ingimundarson a yellow card for diving instead. Geirarður Ingimundarson kicked well hit freekick during the 32nd minute of the match. When Enaut Castaño came up free with the goalie in the 33rd minute, the Morata fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Enaut Castaño couldn't finish the play. If Hagbarður Nikulásarson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 40th minute, Ciro Jauregui hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Skúta Ákason charged in rather forcefully in the 41st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Skúta Ákason the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Skúta Ákason hit a great freekick 41 minutes into the match. Hagbarður Nikulásarson struck a weak shot in the 43rd minute. Victor Cabanela didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Grimmu Tröllin. In the 49th minute Grimmu Tröllin were awarded a corner. Skúta Ákason went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner ended in Skúta Ákason almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Morata's Victor Cabanela did a great save. The first half was very even, with the score at 2-2 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Pablo Barro stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Hagbarður Nikulásarson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 82nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Skúta Ákason's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 83rdth minute, Victor Cabanela skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. In the 84th minute, Tohias Cayuela hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 89 minutes into the game, Lauro Sauca cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-2. Georg Hannesson was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Lazaro Candamil's late challenge caught a Grimmu Tröllin's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Lazaro Candamil helped the player get up and apologised. In the 96th match minute, Morata was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lazaro Candamil to maneuver through the defense.
