Skúta Ákason started the match with the kick off. After 4 minutes, Roque Otoniel mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Talleres and the Grimmu Tröllin players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 3 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Talleres! Talleres:s Saverio Erdiano showed great skill when he stopped Skúta Ákason:s penalty. 8 minutes into the match, Grimmu Tröllin's goal looked a bit too open when Jacinto Avellaneda came free, but Georg Hannesson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 10th minute, Skúta Ákason managed to get in a good position for a shot. Grimmu Tröllin's supporters rose to their feet, but Skúta Ákason was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Saverio Erdiano breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 12 minutes into the game, Cornelio Orkatz was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Talleres's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Grimmu Tröllin the free kick. After 12 played minutes Talleres got a freekick which was hit by Cornelio Orkatz. Tiburcio Cucao scored 0-1 in the 15th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Georg Hannesson, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Georg Hannesson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jacinto Avellaneda, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Geirarður Ingimundarson recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 21st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Hagbarður Nikulásarsons short, quick shot in the 22ndth minute got Saverio Erdiano to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. The supporters of Grimmu Tröllin booed when Talleres was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Arturo Egoi didn't get a good kick on the ball. Primitivo Ferrando hit a great freekick 24 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in Grimmu Tröllin's zone, Tiburcio Cucao stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Georg Hannesson came out of the goal and Tiburcio Cucao tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After some careless play in the Grimmu Tröllin defense, Tiburcio Cucao kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Georg Hannesson. The Grimmu Tröllin fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Georg Hannesson should have stopped the shot. Georg Hannesson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Vladimiro Donio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 39th minute, Primitivo Ferrando hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 42 played minutes Talleres got a freekick which was hit by Tiburcio Cucao. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Jacinto Avellaneda stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. When Skúta Ákason came up free with the goalie in the 55th minute, the Grimmu Tröllin fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Skúta Ákason couldn't finish the play. Geirarður Ingimundarson struck a weak shot in the 65th minute. Saverio Erdiano didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Grimmu Tröllin. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Skúta Ákason in the 67th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Saverio Erdiano prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Sigmundur Sveinsson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 84 minutes into the game, Jacinto Avellaneda recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Georg Hannesson. Jacinto Avellaneda showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-5. Skúta Ákason sent away a hard shot on goal in the 92nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Talleres had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
