But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gualter Penha couldn't finish the play. In the 97th minute Guilherme Basso shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Percy Fernandez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The ᑎᗝᖇ丅ᕼᗴᖇᑎ ᒪᎥǤᕼ丅ᔕ fans cheered their team off the field, for while Sport Clube Recife had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
