Mariusz Komornicki showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Laércio Penha in the 11th minute of the match. 14 minutes into the game, Nova Iguaçu MZFC's Laércio Penha nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Mariusz Komornicki made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. Nova Iguaçu MZFC's Mickaël Maris played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ronaldo Håland in the 19th minute of play. When the match had gone on for 25 minutes, Gösta Andreasson put it in 1-2 from a short distance just to the right of Mickaël Maris. Mickaël Maris made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ronaldo Håland in the 29th minute of play. 30 minutes into the game, Jerônimo Favoretto was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Nova Iguaçu MZFC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave CAMPINAS FUTEBOL CLUBE the free kick. After 30 played minutes Nova Iguaçu MZFC got a freekick which was hit by Jerônimo Favoretto. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ronaldo Håland in the 39th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Mickaël Maris saved Nova Iguaçu MZFC from getting behind. In the 41st minute, Tomás Mazza hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Rodrigo Trigo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 41st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After some careless play in the CAMPINAS FUTEBOL CLUBE defense, Laércio Penha kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Mariusz Komornicki. The CAMPINAS FUTEBOL CLUBE fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Mariusz Komornicki should have stopped the shot.

Mickaël Maris made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ronaldo Håland in the 63rd minute. Davut İskenderoğlu made in the 64th minute of the game a quick throw-in and Laércio Penha immediately put the ball in play. In the 68th minute, Tomás Mazza hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ronaldo Håland could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 69th minute of the match, but Mickaël Maris made a huge save. With a little luck, Nova Iguaçu MZFC's Mickaël Maris got control of the ball when Ronaldo Håland tried to sneak it across the goal line. Mariusz Komornicki made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Laércio Penha in the 82nd minute of play. 86 minutes into the match, Ronaldo Håland had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Mickaël Maris. Nova Iguaçu MZFC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ronaldo Håland was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-3. In the 92nd minute Andrézinho Vaz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mariusz Komornicki saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, CAMPINAS FUTEBOL CLUBE's Evandro Senna got a free kick in the 94th minute. The supporters of CAMPINAS FUTEBOL CLUBE booed when Nova Iguaçu MZFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 96 match minutes in a wonderful position. Andrézinho Vaz didn't get a good kick on the ball. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched CAMPINAS FUTEBOL CLUBE eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
