The corner led Diamante Negro DK - VV's Victor Silva to fire away a dangerous shot which Egun Pais despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Egun Pais showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Victor Silva, who was totally free with the ball in the 7th minute. Rogério Ceni came out of the goal in the 9th minute to try and stop a shot by Floresta Negra FC's Andy Cole. But to his dismay, Andy Cole quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. Diamante Negro DK - VV's Rogério Ceni proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 11th minute of the match, managed to save Diamante Negro DK - VV from getting a goal against them. 18 minutes into the match, Floresta Negra FC's Andy Cole sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Rogério Ceni narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Diamante Negro DK - VV's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Andy Cole 20 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 2-0. When the match had gone on for 27 minutes, Andy Cole took a quick shot and it went in 3-0 without a chance for Rogério Ceni to make any attempt to save it. Wiliam Perez's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Egun Pais read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 30th minute of play. In the 31st minute Diamante Negro DK - VV were awarded a corner. Victor Silva went to the cornerflag to take it. Umberto Lara hit a great freekick 34 minutes into the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Andy Cole got free with Rogério Ceni in the 35th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Floresta Negra FC were awarded a corner in the 41th minute after Diamante Negro DK - VV's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Lokon Pøhl took the corner. When Umberto Lara fell near the penalty area in the 42nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Diamante Negro DK - VV's protests and gave Umberto Lara a yellow card for diving instead. Af the end of the first half the score was 3-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

After a rather tough play, Floresta Negra FC's Carlos Fernando Azevedo got a free kick in the 68th minute. Diamante Negro DK - VV's Hugo Zonta was substituted for Willian Félix. A throw-in in the 75th minute of the game was made by Enio Lopez with Hugo Zonta as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. Jardel Lewandowski might have been able to make a better finish in the 77th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Rogério Ceni. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Jardel Lewandowski ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 83rd minute of the match Floresta Negra FC got a corner. Diamante Negro DK - VV's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Lokon Pøhl ran over to the corner to take the kick. The attack was good, but when Hector Bazkoare in the 83rd minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. Rogério Ceni came out of the goal in the 87th minute to try and stop a shot by Floresta Negra FC's Jardel Lewandowski. But to his dismay, Jardel Lewandowski quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 5-0. 91 minutes into the match, Jardel Lewandowski notched a goal, 6-0, to the right of Diamante Negro DK - VV's Rogério Ceni. Rogério Ceni was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. For all the effort they put into the match, the Diamante Negro DK - VV players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Floresta Negra FC.
