After some fancy dribbling in the 10th minute, Inácio Bueno managed to get in a good position for a shot. CANIL VON ZAATARI™️'s supporters rose to their feet, but Inácio Bueno was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Frankie Gunn breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Elder Pena had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 14th minute of the match, Elder Pena got a very nice opportunity to score, but Frankie Gunn was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. In the 17th minute Cristóvão Heidemann shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Emerson Leão saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Teofil Zjawin came up free with the goalie in the 20th minute, the CANIL VON ZAATARI™️ fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Teofil Zjawin couldn't finish the play. In the 21st minute Arne Kullander shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Emerson Leão saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Leões do Sul 53's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Christiano Barreto in the 23rd minute. CANIL VON ZAATARI™️'s Emerson Leão played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Raúl Motta in the 26th minute of play. If Elder Pena had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Elder Pena fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Frankie Gunn having to interfere. Elder Pena received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 32nd minute. Frankie Gunn tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Emerson Leão took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Raúl Motta, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Frankie Gunn made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Teofil Zjawin in the 50th minute of play. Frankie Gunn showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Osvaldo Shantala in the 59th minute of the match. In the 64th minute, Christiano Barreto hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Adriano de Brito recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 64th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Leões do Sul 53's zone, Emílio Ceresso stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Frankie Gunn came out of the goal and Emílio Ceresso tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Frankie Gunn showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Osvaldo Shantala in the 74th minute of the match. When Raúl Motta came up free with the goalie in the 79th minute, the Leões do Sul 53 fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Raúl Motta couldn't finish the play. CANIL VON ZAATARI™️'s Lopes Vea was substituted for Victor Garcia. CANIL VON ZAATARI™️'s Enrique do Vale was substituted for Adriano de Brito. An unexpectedly hard shot by Teofil Zjawin in the 85th minute of play forced Leões do Sul 53's goalkeeper Frankie Gunn to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
