The audience thought a goal was coming when Ryszard Borcz got free with Nuşirävan Cäbrayilov in the 43rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 45th minute, Äliqulu Vermäliyev ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ysmael Marfil was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.
