Jesús Caminero showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ryszard Borcz in the 9th minute of the match. Ysmael Marfil made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jeremias Stewarts in the 10th minute of play. Dominican Republic's Jesús Caminero played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Albert Filipoiu in the 16th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Henry Costa got free with Ysmael Marfil in the 26th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Henry Costa received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Ysmael Marfil came out and tried to block the shot, but Henry Costa slotted it home off the left post making it 2-0 in the 26th minute. Ysmael Marfil made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jeremias Stewarts in the 29th minute of play. In the 30thth minute of the game Jeremias Stewarts who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but DINAMO's Ysmael Marfil was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 31 minutes DINAMO's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Bruno Melillo who took care of the corner kick. After 46 played minutes Jeremias Stewarts rounded DINAMO's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 5-0. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 5-0 at half-time.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Jeremias Stewarts made a kick off. Hernán Diaz lost his temper 53 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. After some careless play in the Dominican Republic defense, Traian Stoiculescu kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jesús Caminero. The Dominican Republic fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jesús Caminero should have stopped the shot. Ysmael Marfil showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jeremias Stewarts, who was totally free with the ball in the 56th minute. 63 minutes into the match, Dominican Republic's goalkeeper Jesús Caminero had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ryszard Borcz. DINAMO's Traian Stoiculescu was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Jesús Caminero in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Jeremias Stewarts received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 90th minute. Ysmael Marfil tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 92nd minute Jeremias Stewarts shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ysmael Marfil saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jeremias Stewarts in the 94th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ysmael Marfil saved DINAMO from getting behind. 95 minutes had been played when some careless play by DINAMO's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. A well-hit corner resulted in Emilio Rael heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. After 99 played minutes, Dominican Republic's Emilio Rael shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Ysmael Marfil came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Dominican Republic reached it. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Dominican Republic fans cheered their team off the field, for while DINAMO had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
