The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by William Luz during the 2nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Antônio Carlos Cavalcante showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Berkeley Glover, who was totally free with the ball in the 11th minute. Dorival Almeida fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dani Cochrane having to interfere. Palestra do Interior's Antônio Carlos Cavalcante proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 15th minute of the match, managed to save Palestra do Interior from getting a goal against them. Dedé Mazer received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 17th minute. Dani Cochrane tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Antônio Carlos Cavalcante was out of position in the 22 minute of play, and Berkeley Glover capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Berkeley Glover really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. In the 24th match minute, Palestra do Interior was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dedé Mazer to maneuver through the defense. In the 30th minute Olliver Todman shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Antônio Carlos Cavalcante saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 37th minute, Berkeley Glover fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Olliver Todman's late challenge caught a Palestra do Interior's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Olliver Todman helped the player get up and apologised. Olliver Todman kicked well hit freekick during the 38th minute of the match. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Olliver Todman made a kick off. A collision led to Palestra do Interior getting a freekick after 57 minutes play. Jhon Barcellos hit a great ball. Palestra do Interior's Antônio Carlos Cavalcante played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dakota Gaffigan in the 60th minute of play. After 63 played minutes Australian Youth Academy got a freekick which was hit by Ben Minton. Palestra do Interior's Hortêncio Mandrak was substituted for David Vale. Palestra do Interior made a substitution. Doriva Loureiro replaced Sandy Ogrocki. Palestra do Interior's Ronaldinho Abraão was substituted for Dorival Almeida. After 65 played minutes Australian Youth Academy got a freekick which was hit by Ben Minton. After a defensive mix-up in Australian Youth Academy's zone, Jhon Barcellos stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Dani Cochrane came out of the goal and Jhon Barcellos tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Antônio Carlos Cavalcante showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hank Bleazard in the 69th minute of the match. Dani Cochrane made a fantastic save in the 80th minute, when Serafim Simão sent off a good shot on target. After a rather tough play, Australian Youth Academy's Lauder Fitzsimmons got a free kick in the 81st minute. Casper Keato's late challenge caught a Palestra do Interior's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Casper Keato helped the player get up and apologised. Casper Keato hit a great freekick 88 minutes into the match. Australian Youth Academy's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
