The supporters of KaoS Futbol Club booed when Palestra do Interior was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ulysses Neto didn't get a good kick on the ball. Pedro Abarca took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Serafim Simão, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 25th minute of the match Jhon Barcellos sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Pedro Abarca skillfully saved the ball. In the 36th minute Jhon Barcellos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pedro Abarca saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as Jhon Barcellos kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Pedro Abarca. That made the score 3-1 in the 37 minute of play. In the 44th minute Dorival Almeida shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pedro Abarca saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 45 minutes into the match, Serafim Simão dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Pedro Abarca, 4-1.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Armando Arias to strike the kick off in the second half. Narciso Bautista could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 54th minute of the match, but Antônio Carlos Cavalcante made a huge save. In the 56th match minute, Palestra do Interior was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ulysses Neto to maneuver through the defense. Jhon Barcellos struck a weak shot in the 68th minute. Pedro Abarca didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Palestra do Interior. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jhon Barcellos in the 72nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Pedro Abarca prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After some fancy dribbling in the 75th minute, Jhon Barcellos managed to get in a good position for a shot. Palestra do Interior's supporters rose to their feet, but Jhon Barcellos was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Pedro Abarca breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Jhon Barcellos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Palestra do Interior getting a freekick after 81 minutes play. Jhon Barcellos hit a great ball. In the 90th minute Serafim Simão shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pedro Abarca saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 94th minute, Mateo Giraldo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Palestra do Interior fully deserved thier win.
