If Anthony Bonelli had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 2nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Karaboudjan booed when Palermo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 3 match minutes in a wonderful position. Saul Felo didn't get a good kick on the ball. A hard shot 4 in the game by Refik Cumhur from a close distance when the talented Alfredo Joey managed to make a qualified save. Palermo's players were relieved. Elano Travassos didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Santiago Mino went, in the 6th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. After having played for 11 minutes, Filomeno Nicholas managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Karaboudjan's supporters crossed their fingers, but Filomeno Nicholas was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 12 played minutes Karaboudjan got a freekick which was hit by Rafael Godoi. In the 13th minute, Santiago Mino left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Palermo fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. In the 15th minute Evaristo Tolino shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alfredo Joey saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Karaboudjan's zone, Arnoldo Medina stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Elano Travassos came out of the goal and Arnoldo Medina tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 27 minutes into the match, Karaboudjan's goal looked a bit too open when Arnoldo Medina came free, but Elano Travassos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 30 minutes, Mateus Velloso mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Karaboudjan and the Palermo players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 30th minute, Mateus Velloso hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Anthony Bonelli took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 31st minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Elano Travassos. Karaboudjan's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Elano Travassos didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Santiago Mino went, in the 32nd minute, to the upper right corner, 1-3 was the resulting score. In the 36th minute, Anthony Bonelli ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Elano Travassos was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-4. 43 minutes into the game, Maximino Gonzalez cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-5. Elano Travassos was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Anthony Bonelli received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 48th minute. Elano Travassos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The Karaboudjan players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Palermo were winning 1-5.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Santiago Mino to strike the kick off in the second half. Elano Travassos made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-8. In the 68th minute, Palermo's Arnoldo Medina dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-9. Palermo's Anacleto Itzaina was substituted for Alfred Olsson. Santiago Minos short, quick shot in the 71stth minute got Elano Travassos to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Elano Travassos made a fantastic save in the 73rd minute, when Santiago Mino sent off a good shot on target. 74 minutes into the game, Arkadiusz Glowacki recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Elano Travassos. Arkadiusz Glowacki showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-10. In the 77th minute, Arnoldo Medina ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Elano Travassos was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-11. Karaboudjan's defense didn't have a chance, in the 80th minute, when Santiago Mino scored to the left of an out of position Elano Travassos, making the score, 1-12. With a little luck, Karaboudjan's Elano Travassos got control of the ball when Anthony Bonelli tried to sneak it across the goal line. Karaboudjan's Elano Travassos proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 85th minute of the match, managed to save Karaboudjan from getting a goal against them. Mateus Velloso kicked well hit freekick during the 86th minute of the match. Palermo's Patryk Wiater was substituted for Maximino Gonzalez. Elano Travassos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Santiago Mino in the 96th minute of play. The Palermo players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
