Ertan Nuralps short, quick shot in the 5thth minute got Pankracy Glogowski to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. The audience was convinced that Ertan Nuralp's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Pankracy Glogowski was relentless in the 14th minute of the game. Pankracy Glogowski took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Suphi Sebuk, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ertan Nuralp got free with Pankracy Glogowski in the 46th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mugur Chiriac in the 47th minute of play forced KOCAELİSPOR's goalkeeper İlhami Muhittin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-1.

İlhami Muhittin made a fantastic save in the 82nd minute, when Alfonso Goicoechea sent off a good shot on target. Alfonso Goicoechea scored 3-2 in the 83rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of İlhami Muhittin, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. KOCAELİSPOR's Arslan Kamran quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Emil Chwalkiewicz, made in the 87th minute of the game. KOCAELİSPOR's İlhami Muhittin proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 89th minute of the match, managed to save KOCAELİSPOR from getting a goal against them. In the 90th minute Ali Faruk Hasanoğlu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pankracy Glogowski saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
