The supporters of Š¢σяpiσиŠ booed when Villaverde Celeste Clube was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 5 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dino Manfredi didn't get a good kick on the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Roy Makaay in the 11th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Emílio Cordeiro prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Eduardo Angulo hit a great freekick 11 minutes into the match. Roy Makaay might have been able to make a better finish in the 14th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Emílio Cordeiro. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Roy Makaay ran back to his position shaking his head. Nenko Reza made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Meriç Nurkan in the 21st minute of play. 22 minutes had been played when some careless play by Villaverde Celeste Clube's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Amedeo Faccio was slow to take the kick. During this time Š¢σяpiσиŠ's players had a chance to rest. After 25 minutes Š¢σяpiσиŠ's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Guo Ao who took care of the corner kick. A nice corner shot did that Guo Ao got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Emílio Cordeiro quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Emílio Cordeiro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Roy Makaay in the 30th minute of the match. Edmund Wawrukiewicz kicked well hit freekick during the 33rd minute of the match. Amedeo Faccio's shot from long distance in the 34th minute was not bad at all, but Villaverde Celeste Clube's Nenko Reza knew what was happening and pushed the ball into his arms just before it hit the right post. 35 minutes into the game, Bobby Moore threw the ball into play from the sideline. Villaverde Celeste Clube's Edmund Wawrukiewicz quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. When Roy Makaay came up free with the goalie in the 39th minute, the Villaverde Celeste Clube fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Roy Makaay couldn't finish the play. Roy Makaay's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Emílio Cordeiro read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 45th minute of play. Guo Ao made a great header on Villaverde Celeste Clube's corner, it was just that Š¢σяpiσиŠ's Emílio Cordeiro managed to reach the ball for a save. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Emílio Cordeiro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Roy Makaay in the 53rd minute of play. Roy Makaay might have been able to make a better finish in the 65th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Emílio Cordeiro. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Roy Makaay ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 68th minute, Roy Makaay got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Š¢σяpiσиŠ's Jorginho Esteves was substituted for Fortunato Domenghini. Š¢σяpiσиŠ's Emílio Cordeiro proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 72nd minute of the match, managed to save Š¢σяpiσиŠ from getting a goal against them. In the 74th minute Erasmo Yeste shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nenko Reza saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Roy Makaay scored 0-2 in the 77th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Emílio Cordeiro, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. If Meriç Nurkan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Nenko Reza made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Amedeo Faccio in the 85th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Roy Makaay in the 88th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Emílio Cordeiro saved Š¢σяpiσиŠ from getting behind. Villaverde Celeste Clube's Nenko Reza played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gilberto Cardozo in the 95th minute of play. Villaverde Celeste Clube's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
