If Yu Ran Fan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 6th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Olgierd Kowalski in the 10th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Uwe Ziege prevented the ball from getting in the gole. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Olgierd Kowalski in the 13th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Uwe Ziege saved Rot-Weiss-Essen from getting behind. When BYDGOSTIA's Olgierd Kowalski in the 14th minute got a chance for a shot 14th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Rot-Weiss-Essen's goalie prevented a goal. Zbyszko Leper showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Octavian Basten, who was totally free with the ball in the 16th minute. 21 minutes into the match, BYDGOSTIA's goal looked a bit too open when Hugo Haupt came free, but Zbyszko Leper reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Zbyszko Leper took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Anestis Kotsopoulos, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Zbyszko Leper showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hugo Haupt in the 29th minute of the match. Uwe Ziege made a fantastic save in the 30th minute, when Nicklas Lindström sent off a good shot on target. 32 minutes into the game, Olgierd Kowalski recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Uwe Ziege. Olgierd Kowalski showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 4-0. Olgierd Kowalski recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 34th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Nicklas Lindströms short, quick shot in the 36thth minute got Uwe Ziege to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in.

The wind increased when Olgierd Kowalski made the kick off in the second half. 54 minutes into the match, BYDGOSTIA's goalkeeper Zbyszko Leper had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Mesut Özil. Uwe Ziege showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Olgierd Kowalski in the 56th minute of the match. The tension between the BYDGOSTIA and the Rot-Weiss-Essen players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Rot-Weiss-Essen booed when BYDGOSTIA was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 70 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tytus Paprotny didn't get a good kick on the ball. BYDGOSTIA's Marcin Prusinowski was substituted for Olgierd Kowalski. BYDGOSTIA made a substitution. Emil Piesciuk replaced Mariusz Warka. In the 71st minute, Tytus Paprotny hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Yu Ran Fan scored 5-0 in the 74th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Uwe Ziege, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 80th match minute, BYDGOSTIA was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tytus Paprotny to maneuver through the defense. With a little luck, BYDGOSTIA's Zbyszko Leper got control of the ball when Kryspin Banach tried to sneak it across the goal line. Uwe Ziege stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Marcin Prusinowski's shot from short distance in the 88th minute. In the 90th minute of the match BYDGOSTIA got a corner. Rot-Weiss-Essen's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Sebastian Bochynski ran over to the corner to take the kick. Octavian Basten in the 95thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Zbyszko Leper, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The BYDGOSTIA fans cheered their team off the field, for while Rot-Weiss-Essen had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
