Vicente Dantas's late challenge caught a Club Puerto Quito's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Vicente Dantas helped the player get up and apologised. Vicente Dantas hit a great freekick 14 minutes into the match. Olivier Dubs took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tenorio Cuerva, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Mauricio Precioso didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Gino de Brito went, in the 16th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. Club Puerto Quito's Mauricio Precioso played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Przemyslaw Tworek in the 23rd minute of play. After 25 played minutes, Club Puerto Quito's Conrado Leo shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Olivier Dubs came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Club Puerto Quito reached it. Rufino Giron's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Olivier Dubs read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 32nd minute of play. After 34 played minutes BEST FABIO F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Zé Augusto Batista. Mauricio Precioso made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Przemyslaw Tworek in the 36th minute of play. In the 42nd minute, Alexandre Xande sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Club Puerto Quito's Mauricio Precioso didn't even have to move. In the 44th minute, BEST FABIO F.C.'s Gino de Brito dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-0. Przemyslaw Tworek came free with the goalkeeper in the 47th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Mauricio Precioso could save by the left post. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

The wind increased when Toninho Cosme made the kick off in the second half. Mauricio Precioso showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Przemyslaw Tworek, who was totally free with the ball in the 51st minute. In the 59th minute Gino de Brito shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mauricio Precioso saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. For all the effort they put into the match, the Club Puerto Quito players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense.
