The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. If Karsten Bath had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 3rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sabino Telinhos in the 11th minute of play forced Hamburger SV's goalkeeper Balko Schiewerling to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Karsten Bath received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 13th minute. Guido Herrera tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Balko Schiewerling showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sabino Telinhos, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. In the 20thth minute of the game Sabino Telinhos who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Hamburger SV's Balko Schiewerling was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-5 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Salvador Matias received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Balko Schiewerling tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Karsten Bath was the one to do the kick off. Guido Herrera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sebastian Kullig in the 52nd minute of play. 54 minutes in the game, Sabino Telinhos fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Balko Schiewerling having to interfere. After 58 played minutes SC Farense got a freekick which was hit by Diego Leme. SC Farense's Tarcísio Marinho was substituted for Sabino Telinhos. SC Farense's Marcos Ponte was substituted for Almiro Bacelar. After 60 played minutes SC Farense got a freekick which was hit by Diego Leme. This resulted in a 0-10 score and a disappointed Balko Schiewerling as he didn't even see the shot coming. Grigoris Bikakis in the 88thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Balko Schiewerling, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Tarcísio Marinho in the 89th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Balko Schiewerling prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Balko Schiewerling showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tarcísio Marinho in the 91st minute of the match. In the 93rd minute, Emil Marissen hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tarcísio Marinho in the 94th minute of play forced Hamburger SV's goalkeeper Balko Schiewerling to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
