Madison were awarded a corner in the 16th minute after Comira AFC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Vítor Esparteiro took the corner. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Benito Naldo in the 34th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Gonzalo Fonticoba prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The audience thought a goal was coming when Benito Naldo got free with Gonzalo Fonticoba in the 37th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Madison's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Vítor Esparteiro in the 39th minute. Madison's Vítor Esparteiro was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Gonzalo Fonticoba in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. After a defensive mix-up in Comira AFC's zone, Benito Naldo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gonzalo Fonticoba came out of the goal and Benito Naldo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ernesto Emmanuel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jozef Van Emelen in the 44th minute of play. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Benito Naldo to make the kick off. When the match had gone on for 59 minutes, Benito Naldo put it in 4-0 from a short distance just to the right of Gonzalo Fonticoba. After some fancy dribbling in the 66th minute, Benito Naldo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Madison's supporters rose to their feet, but Benito Naldo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gonzalo Fonticoba breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Madison's Benito Naldo got a good chance for a goal in the 71st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Comira AFC made a substitution.
