After a rather tough play, Paraná Clube's Azly Chee got a free kick in the 5th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Valentim Leão got free with Darren Chandran in the 5th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 7 minutes Paraná Clube's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Valentim Leão who took care of the corner kick. In the 8th minute BAAS FC were awarded a corner. Valentim Leão went to the cornerflag to take it. In the 9th minute of the match BAAS FC got a corner. Paraná Clube's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Valentim Leão ran over to the corner to take the kick. If Xavi Hernandez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Tamer Kutcan took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Adam Hsi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Azly Chee lost his temper 23 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. Azly Chee hit a great freekick 23 minutes into the match. BAAS FC's Tamer Kutcan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Shah Tan in the 28th minute of play. Paraná Clube's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by José Lima in the 29th minute. Tamer Kutcan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from José Lima, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Adam Hsi in the 33rd minute of play forced BAAS FC's goalkeeper Tamer Kutcan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Xavi Hernandez in the 39th minute of play forced Paraná Clube's goalkeeper Darren Chandran to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Valentim Leão made a kick off. It was a well-played corner which Gabriel Abreu managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. Valentim Leão's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Darren Chandran read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 57th minute of play. In the 58th minute of the match BAAS FC got a corner. Paraná Clube's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. In the 67th minute Zak Hong shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tamer Kutcan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 73 minutes into the match, BAAS FC's Gabriel Abreu sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Darren Chandran narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Paraná Clube's zone, Xavi Hernandez stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Darren Chandran came out of the goal and Xavi Hernandez tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A collision led to BAAS FC getting a freekick after 90 minutes play. Gabriel Abreu hit a great ball. The crowd rose to their feet as José Lima kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Tamer Kutcan. That made the score 0-1 in the 92 minute of play.
Paraná Clube were delighted with the way they had won the match. They had held their defensive line well and made the most of their chances, to claim a victory over BAAS FC's much stronger midfield.
