The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Baldomero Vermudo showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. In the 20th minute, Arrecifes's Abel Egoitz dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-0. If Basílio Melo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Baldomero Vermudo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Amílton Marinho in the 34th minute of the match. A collision led to Arrecifes getting a freekick after 36 minutes play. Froilan Cutberto hit a great ball. Baldomero Vermudo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gildo de Souza, who was totally free with the ball in the 39th minute. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Baldomero Vermudo came out of the goal in the 56th minute to try and stop a shot by 卡納里尼奧 FC's Agostinho Guedes. But to his dismay, Agostinho Guedes quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. In the 60th match minute, Arrecifes was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Freddy Eudoxio to maneuver through the defense. Eurico Paes hit a great freekick 62 minutes into the match. Arrecifes's Lisandro Geofredo was substituted for Raul Toro. In the 69th minute Amílton Marinho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Baldomero Vermudo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Laerte Marquez's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Baldomero Vermudo read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 70th minute of play. With a little luck, Arrecifes's Baldomero Vermudo got control of the ball when Agostinho Guedes tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 88th minute, Agostinho Guedes reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Baldomero Vermudo. The goal made the score 2-2. With a little luck, Arrecifes's Baldomero Vermudo got control of the ball when Laerte Marquez tried to sneak it across the goal line. The long shot by Basílio Melo in the 96th minute really tested Baldomero Vermudo's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal.
