An unexpectedly hard shot by Saverio Brion in the 12th minute of play forced ATHLETICO PRaiano's goalkeeper Rodriguinho Sousa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 15th minute the ball was on its way in behind Celestiales's goalkeeper Bennvar Noobel, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The supporters of Celestiales booed when ATHLETICO PRaiano was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. Betão Marquez didn't get a good kick on the ball. Deilmison van Basten scored 1-1 in the 21st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Bennvar Noobel, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 24 minutes into the match, ATHLETICO PRaiano's goalkeeper Rodriguinho Sousa had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Santiago Abreu. Celestiales's Bennvar Noobel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Deilmison van Basten in the 30th minute of play. Bennvar Noobel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Deilmison van Basten, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. A collision led to ATHLETICO PRaiano getting a freekick after 39 minutes play. Gaétan Govou hit a great ball. After 46 minutes Celestiales's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Unax Mudarra who took care of the corner kick. The corner ended in Unax Mudarra almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Celestiales's Bennvar Noobel did a great save. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The ATHLETICO PRaiano fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Rodriguinho Sousa should have stopped the shot. 86 minutes into the match, Celestiales's goalkeeper Bennvar Noobel had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Deilmison van Basten. Rodriguinho Sousa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Isaias Laurin in the 88th minute of the match. When the match had gone on for 90 minutes, Deilmison van Basten took a quick shot and it went in 2-3 without a chance for Bennvar Noobel to make any attempt to save it. Deilmison van Basten's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Bennvar Noobel read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 94th minute of play. The ATHLETICO PRaiano supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing ATHLETICO PRaiano would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
