The ball looked like it was going in, but it was hit a bit too hard and flew over the goal. In the 23rd match minute, Deportivo Pomelo Nenene was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tolek Mlekodaj to maneuver through the defense. In the 29th minute of the match Deportivo Pomelo Nenene got a corner. Tabossi's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Stig-Åke Blomberg ran over to the corner to take the kick. After taking down the ball on Deportivo Pomelo Nenene's corner Ton Meulman fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Nery Pumpido quite easily take care of the ball. Santo Gonzo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nery Pumpido having to interfere. In the 42nd minute, Deportivo Pomelo Nenene's Tolek Mlekodaj dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-0. The audience thought a goal was coming when Tolek Mlekodaj got free with Nery Pumpido in the 47th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Tolek Mlekodaj to strike the kick off in the second half. The supporters of Tabossi booed when Deportivo Pomelo Nenene was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ata Baykut didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 61 minutes, Tolek Mlekodaj mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Deportivo Pomelo Nenene and the Tabossi players grew even worse after the yellow card.
