The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Dale Dolar's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Didi Papardelas read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 5th minute of play. 12 minutes into the match, Barcellos Mineiro FC's Dale Dolar sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Didi Papardelas narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Dale Dolar recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 15th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 17th minute Cayetano Lluciano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Patricio Ugutz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Eugenio Bernal charged in rather forcefully in the 18th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Eugenio Bernal the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Eugenio Bernal kicked well hit freekick during the 18th minute of the match. A collision led to Piquirenda FC getting a freekick after 20 minutes play. Filiberto Indartsu hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in Barcellos Mineiro FC's zone, Cayetano Lluciano stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Patricio Ugutz came out of the goal and Cayetano Lluciano tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Piquirenda FC's Didi Papardelas proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 24th minute of the match, managed to save Piquirenda FC from getting a goal against them. Patricio Ugutz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jilian Oosters, who was totally free with the ball in the 29th minute. Patricio Ugutz didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Jilian Oosters went, in the 30th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. 37 minutes into the game, Gwidon Czajka threw the ball into play from the sideline. Barcellos Mineiro FC's Marcos Fantini quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. In the 40th minute, Gwidon Czajka hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Patricio Ugutz made an important save on a dangerous shot by Cayetano Lluciano in the 51st minute. Patricio Ugutz made a fantastic save in the 55th minute, when Cayetano Lluciano sent off a good shot on target. Clóvis Vieira hit a great freekick 57 minutes into the match. Piquirenda FC's Laureano Abeita was substituted for Cayetano Lluciano. After 58 played minutes Barcellos Mineiro FC got a freekick which was hit by Clóvis Vieira. After a defensive mix-up in Piquirenda FC's zone, Dale Dolar stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Didi Papardelas came out of the goal and Dale Dolar tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Dale Dolar in the 70th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Didi Papardelas saved Piquirenda FC from getting behind. Radul Kokalov kicked well hit freekick during the 71st minute of the match. Piquirenda FC made a substitution. Roberto Iratze replaced Jilian Oosters. Radul Kokalov hit a great freekick 72 minutes into the match. Luisinho Uribe scored 1-1 in the 77th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Didi Papardelas, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Barcellos Mineiro FC made a substitution. Carlos-Henrique Casemiro replaced Tião Paraíba. Didi Papardelas took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luisinho Uribe, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 95th minute, Eugenio Bernal left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Piquirenda FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-3. The Piquirenda FC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Piquirenda FC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
