The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Despidida AFC's Fernando Selatse proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 8th minute of the match, managed to save Despidida AFC from getting a goal against them. 13 minutes into the game, Alvaro Raymond cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Venancio Cristofol was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After a rather tough play, Despidida AFC's Emanuel Lucila got a free kick in the 16th minute. In the 21st match minute, Despidida AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Michael Corleone to maneuver through the defense. Alvaro Raymond might have been able to make a better finish in the 26th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Venancio Cristofol. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Alvaro Raymond ran back to his position shaking his head. Venancio Cristofol took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alvaro Raymond, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Thanks to some nice moves Nestor Bâru could shoot a difficult shot in the 28th minute, which Fernando Selatse however easily saved by the left post. Venancio Cristofol showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alvaro Raymond in the 29th minute of the match. In the 29th minute, Alvaro Raymond ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Venancio Cristofol was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-3. Alvaro Raymond sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the match had gone on for 39 minutes, Nestor Bâru took a quick shot and it went in 1-3 without a chance for Fernando Selatse to make any attempt to save it. A collision led to Despidida AFC getting a freekick after 45 minutes play. Gabriel Silban hit a great ball. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-3 lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Nestor Bâru stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. When Nestor Bâru came up free with the goalie in the 52nd minute, the Unidad de Matanza fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Nestor Bâru couldn't finish the play. Venancio Cristofol made an important save on a dangerous shot by Alvaro Raymond in the 54th minute. If Nestor Bâru had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 60th minute, Nestor Bâru ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Fernando Selatse was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-3. Unidad de Matanza made a substitution. Michal Stehno replaced Nestor Bâru. Unidad de Matanza's Maarten Aelbrecht was substituted for Yannick Bartz. Unidad de Matanza's Máximo Kirchner was substituted for Lotfi Ziadi. Fernando Selatse showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Máximo Kirchner in the 65th minute of the match. Fernando Selatse made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Máximo Kirchner in the 69th minute of play. Pastor Tino was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 76th minute. Despidida AFC's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dinu Ivănescu in the 85th minute of play forced Unidad de Matanza's goalkeeper Venancio Cristofol to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Lenni Skensved hit a great freekick 86 minutes into the match. A hard shot by Emanuel Lucila from long distance, 86 minutes into the match, got Venancio Cristofol's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. 88 minutes into the match, Despidida AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Maarten Aelbrecht came free, but Fernando Selatse reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Despidida AFC walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
