NECKER49's Joel Cristofor proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 5th minute of the match, managed to save NECKER49 from getting a goal against them. In the 9th minute, Grêmio FBPA's Pipis Karapatakis ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Joel Cristofor. Joel Cristofor yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. Joel Cristofor made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pipis Karapatakis in the 13th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Pipis Karapatakis in the 19th minute of play forced NECKER49's goalkeeper Joel Cristofor to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Through an outstanding action, after 19 minutes, Joel Cristofor successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Jardel Sanches took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Carlos Larra, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 28 minutes into the match, Pipis Karapatakis dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Joel Cristofor, 2-0. 32 minutes into the game, Grêmio FBPA's Pipis Karapatakis nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Joel Cristofor made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-0. The crowd rose to their feet as Grêmio FBPA's Pipis Karapatakis slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Joel Cristofor. That made the score 4-1 after 41 minutes of play. Moises Cilio scored 4-2 in the 47th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Jardel Sanches, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. NECKER49's Arsenio Mattin was substituted for Octavio Beat.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Moises Cilio stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 54th minute, Pipis Karapatakis ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Joel Cristofor was frozen by the shot and now it was 5-2. Joel Cristofor showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Pipis Karapatakis in the 57th minute of the match. After 59 played minutes Grêmio FBPA got a freekick which was hit by Diamantino Cabral. With a little luck, Grêmio FBPA's Jardel Sanches got control of the ball when Moises Cilio tried to sneak it across the goal line. Grêmio FBPA's Nestor Leão quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Henry Rockeloos, made in the 71st minute of the game. Pipis Karapatakis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After a defensive mix-up in NECKER49's zone, Pipis Karapatakis stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Joel Cristofor came out of the goal and Pipis Karapatakis tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 79 minutes into the match, Grêmio FBPA's goal looked a bit too open when Moises Cilio came free, but Jardel Sanches reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 85th match minute, NECKER49 was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tiburcio Argina to maneuver through the defense. Arsenio Mattin scored 5-3 in the 88th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Jardel Sanches, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Moises Cilio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jardel Sanches having to interfere. The supporters of NECKER49 booed when Grêmio FBPA was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 93 match minutes in a wonderful position. Diamantino Cabral didn't get a good kick on the ball. The referee felt a red card was in order, 94 minutes into the game, when Humberto Locaio put in a rough tackle. In the 95th minute, Humberto Locaio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Grêmio FBPA fans cheered their team off the field, for while NECKER49 had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
