The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Enrique Cassaretto fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 5th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pankracy Glogowski having to interfere. 9 minutes into the match, CD Municipal's Enrique Cassaretto sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Pankracy Glogowski narrowly saved just below the crossbar. George Forsyth showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Anselmo Nevada in the 10th minute of the match. In the 13th minute the ball was on its way in behind Club Atlético Atlanta's goalkeeper Pankracy Glogowski, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Aureliano Buendia hit a great freekick 18 minutes into the match. 20 minutes into the match, CD Municipal's goal looked a bit too open when Alfonso Goicoechea came free, but George Forsyth reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 23rd minute, Enrique Cassaretto ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Pankracy Glogowski was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. Enrique Cassaretto's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Pankracy Glogowski read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 28th minute of play. 29 minutes had been played when some careless play by Club Atlético Atlanta's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Aureliano Buendia was slow to take the kick. During this time CD Municipal's players had a chance to rest. In the 35th minute Enrique Cassaretto shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pankracy Glogowski saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a little luck, Club Atlético Atlanta's Pankracy Glogowski got control of the ball when Zlatan Molina tried to sneak it across the goal line. Pankracy Glogowski showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Enrique Cassaretto, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Enrique Cassaretto was the one to do the kick off. Club Atlético Atlanta were awarded a corner in the 53th minute after CD Municipal's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Ciro Ferdinand took the corner. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Enrique Cassaretto in the 56th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Pankracy Glogowski saved Club Atlético Atlanta from getting behind. 58 minutes into the match, Enrique Cassaretto notched a goal, 3-0, to the right of Club Atlético Atlanta's Pankracy Glogowski. Pankracy Glogowski was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 62nd minute of the match, Alfonso Goicoechea got a very nice opportunity to score, but George Forsyth was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Pankracy Glogowski stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Enrique Cassaretto's shot from short distance in the 64th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Enrique Cassaretto in the 68th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Pankracy Glogowski prevented the ball from getting in the gole. George Forsyth showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eustaquio Jaizki in the 71st minute of the match. Evtim Kúrdzhev fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pankracy Glogowski having to interfere. CD Municipal made a substitution. Gunnar Ekrot replaced Zlatan Molina. Pankracy Glogowski showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Enrique Cassaretto, who was totally free with the ball in the 76th minute. George Forsyth made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eustaquio Jaizki in the 80th minute of play. Enrique Cassaretto scored 4-0 in the 81st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Pankracy Glogowski, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Club Atlético Atlanta's Pankracy Glogowski played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Enrique Cassaretto in the 85th minute of play. Pankracy Glogowski came out of the goal in the 86th minute to try and stop a shot by CD Municipal's Enrique Cassaretto. But to his dismay, Enrique Cassaretto quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 5-0. 90 minutes into the match, Tulio Andinyach had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Pankracy Glogowski. Club Atlético Atlanta's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Tulio Andinyach was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 6-0. Enrique Cassaretto took the ball and in the 94 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Pankracy Glogowski. Pankracy Glogowski dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 7-0.
