Robustiano Calvet made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. 24 minutes into the match, Attard Gunners's goal looked a bit too open when Saverio Petrigai came free, but Jay Jowsey reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jay Jowsey took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rainer Marthaler, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 32ndth minute of the game Saverio Petrigai who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Attard Gunners's Jay Jowsey was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Robustiano Calvet made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sebastian Ekelund in the 33rd minute of play. Jay Jowsey stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Rainer Marthaler's shot from short distance in the 35th minute. The supporters of Attard Gunners booed when CA Juventud Unida was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 36 match minutes in a wonderful position. Braulio Iyan didn't get a good kick on the ball. Erubiel Txomin hit a great freekick 43 minutes into the match.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Alan Said made a kick off. The supporters of Attard Gunners booed when CA Juventud Unida was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 62 match minutes in a wonderful position. Erubiel Txomin didn't get a good kick on the ball. Braulio Iyan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jay Jowsey having to interfere. Rainer Marthaler who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 67thth minute tested the skills of Jay Jowsey when he managed to save the team from getting behind. A hard shot 68 in the game by Rainer Marthaler from a close distance when the talented Jay Jowsey managed to make a qualified save. Attard Gunners's players were relieved. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Erubiel Txomin during the 70th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card.
