Moldova's Teodor Cãpraru managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Alvise Vittorio in the 9 minute of the game. 11 minutes into the match, Moldova's goal looked a bit too open when Alberto Iezzi came free, but George Buturugã reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Angelo Bertoni had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a left leg George Buturugã saved Moldova from getting behind.

Moldova made a substitution. Maxim Scobioalã replaced Vitalie Cotofanã. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. The attack was good, but when Ruslan Izmanã in the 72nd minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. If Ruslan Izmanã had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 87th minute of the game Alvise Vittorio made a throw-in which Armando Di Massimo played forward. Ruslan Izmanã fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Antonello Ranieri having to interfere. Alvise Vittorio made in the 95th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Attilio Losito. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
