Homero Thomson might have been able to make a better finish in the 35th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Haakon á Borg. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Cura del Futbol's Arturo Gombal managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Victoriano Distiratsu in the 46 minute of the game. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Homero Thomson made a kick off. Cura del Futbol's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Karl-Erik Nordal in the 56th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Salvadore González in the 65th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Haakon á Borg saved Cura del Futbol from getting behind. 66 minutes in the game Arturo Gombal did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Pablo Solari. Haakon á Borg showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Salvadore González, who was totally free with the ball in the 72nd minute. The supporters of TZILACATZIN booed when Cura del Futbol was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 73 match minutes in a wonderful position. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Haakon á Borg prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The TZILACATZIN fans' excitement grew in the 78th match minute when TZILACATZIN's Salvadore González looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. 81 minutes into the match, Cura del Futbol's goal looked a bit too open when Homero Thomson came free, but Haakon á Borg reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Haakon á Borg didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Salvadore González went, in the 84th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score. Haakon á Borg showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Homero Thomson, who was totally free with the ball in the 93rd minute. When the referee blew the final whistle, TZILACATZIN could leave the field as winners, despite Cura del Futbol having more of the ball for most of the match.
