The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Jeremy Nicholas took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marcelo Cavenaghi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Roldan Castellanos in the 16th minute of play forced New England Minas's goalkeeper Jeremy Nicholas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Flavio Cifuentes in the 19th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jeremy Nicholas saved New England Minas from getting behind. When New England Minas's Edgardo Silva in the 22nd minute got a chance for a shot 22nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Taltum FC's goalie prevented a goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Edgardo Silva in the 25th minute of play forced Taltum FC's goalkeeper Zhang Hao Qing to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 31st minute Flavio Cifuentes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jeremy Nicholas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 32nd minute of the match Taltum FC got a corner. New England Minas's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Marcelo Cavenaghi ran over to the corner to take the kick. Flavio Cifuentes took the ball and in the 35 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Jeremy Nicholas. Jeremy Nicholas dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Tio Lio came free with the goalkeeper in the 40th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Zhang Hao Qing could save by the left post. Zhang Hao Qing made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Edgardo Silva in the 45th minute of play. After the first half Taltum FC were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Zhang Hao Qing made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tony Pacheco in the 54th minute of play. A collision led to New England Minas getting a freekick after 56 minutes play. António Nóbrega hit a great ball. 62 minutes into the match, New England Minas's goalkeeper Jeremy Nicholas had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Espinosa Marco. 66 minutes into the match, Taltum FC's goal looked a bit too open when Edgardo Silva came free, but Zhang Hao Qing reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jeremy Nicholas took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Flavio Cifuentes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Zhang Hao Qing showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tony Pacheco, who was totally free with the ball in the 71st minute. Taltum FC's Zhang Hao Qing played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Oscar Nordmark in the 73rd minute of play. Zhang Hao Qing showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tony Pacheco in the 74th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tony Pacheco in the 74th minute of play forced Taltum FC's goalkeeper Zhang Hao Qing to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 77th minute, Taltum FC's Roldan Castellanos ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Jeremy Nicholas. Jeremy Nicholas yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-2. Taltum FC's Obregón Pardemanos was substituted for Flavio Cifuentes. New England Minas made a substitution. In the 82nd minute, Obregón Pardemanos reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Jeremy Nicholas. The goal made the score 0-3. Taltum FC's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
