To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Alf Tempel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Octavio Salvator in the 74th minute of play. If Octavio Salvator had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 77th minute, Achille Ricciuti hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to La Fenix getting a freekick after 87 minutes play. Patricio Hernandez hit a great ball. 88 minutes into the match, La Fenix's goalkeeper Eliseo Tolino had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Daniel Hagedorn. After having played for 93 minutes, Daniel Hagedorn managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Rapid Wien's supporters crossed their fingers, but Daniel Hagedorn was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 97th minute Daniel Hagedorn shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eliseo Tolino saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. La Fenix had won after a very even match.
