Emilio Shepherd showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Paulino Lamberto in the 14th minute of the match. Wessel Bos had several of the San Martin de Tucuman's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 17 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 1-1 score and a disappointed Cecilio Jax as he didn't even see the shot coming. In the 21st minute, Carmelo Osoitz made a precise shot to the right of Emilio Shepherd. KN ZGORZELEC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-2. 25 minutes into the match, Luciano Selmo had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Emilio Shepherd. KN ZGORZELEC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Luciano Selmo was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-3. Luciano Selmo took the ball and in the 30 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Emilio Shepherd. Emilio Shepherd dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-4. Luciano Selmo struck a weak shot in the 35th minute. Emilio Shepherd didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for San Martin de Tucuman. San Martin de Tucuman's Cecilio Jax proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 40th minute of the match, managed to save San Martin de Tucuman from getting a goal against them. In the 43rd minute Paulino Lamberto shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Emilio Shepherd saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a little luck, San Martin de Tucuman's Cecilio Jax got control of the ball when Wessel Bos tried to sneak it across the goal line. The KN ZGORZELEC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. San Martin de Tucuman were winning 1-4.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Wessel Bos to make the kick off.
