Óscar Cordoba made a fantastic save in the 71st minute, when Romulo Thomas sent off a good shot on target. Romulo Thomas took the ball and in the 74 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Óscar Cordoba. Óscar Cordoba dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-3. Óscar Cordoba made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Răzvan Necula in the 78th minute of play. Soroca F.C.'s Romulo Thomas came free and shot a quick shot against goal 82 minutes in the game, fortunately Óscar Cordoba had problems saving as it came toward the left post. 84 minutes into the game, Soroca F.C.'s Romulo Thomas nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Óscar Cordoba made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-4. An unexpectedly hard shot by Răzvan Necula in the 93rd minute of play forced Sporting de Gijón's goalkeeper Óscar Cordoba to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The crowd rose to their feet as Răzvan Necula kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Óscar Cordoba. That made the score 0-5 in the 96 minute of play.
