In the 14thth minute of the game Alfonso Goicoechea who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Marlin FC's Juan Carlos Alvarez was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When the match had gone on for 14 minutes, Alfonso Goicoechea put it in 0-2 from a short distance just to the right of Juan Carlos Alvarez. Pankracy Glogowski showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fermin Arixo in the 17th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Linus Fredriksson in the 18th minute of play forced Club Atlético Atlanta's goalkeeper Pankracy Glogowski to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Aybek Orcun kicked well hit freekick during the 19th minute of the match. Anselmo Nevada hit a great freekick 22 minutes into the match. In the 26th minute there was a penalty for Club Atlético Atlanta. Ciro Ferdinand stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Juan Carlos Alvarez. 0-3. 28 minutes into the match, Linus Fredriksson notched a goal, 1-3, to the right of Club Atlético Atlanta's Pankracy Glogowski. Pankracy Glogowski was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The supporters of Club Atlético Atlanta booed when Marlin FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 32 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fernando Ciano didn't get a good kick on the ball. Marlin FC's Juan Carlos Alvarez played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alfonso Goicoechea in the 33rd minute of play. In the 36th minute Marlin FC were awarded a corner. Ismael Iglesias went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner led Marlin FC's Giovanni Rana to fire away a dangerous shot which Pankracy Glogowski despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Juan Carlos Alvarez took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alfonso Goicoechea, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 41st minute, Aybek Orcun hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 42 minutes into the match, Marlin FC's goal looked a bit too open when Eustaquio Jaizki came free, but Juan Carlos Alvarez reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Linus Fredriksson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Alfonso Goicoechea stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. When Paolo Caradaro fell near the penalty area in the 51st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Club Atlético Atlanta's protests and gave Paolo Caradaro a yellow card for diving instead. In the 52nd minute, Paolo Caradaro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in Club Atlético Atlanta's zone, Linus Fredriksson stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Pankracy Glogowski came out of the goal and Linus Fredriksson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Linus Fredriksson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pankracy Glogowski having to interfere. In the 56th match minute, Club Atlético Atlanta was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Paolo Caradaro to maneuver through the defense. Pankracy Glogowski made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Linus Fredriksson in the 64th minute of play. Pankracy Glogowski showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dionisio Panpili, who was totally free with the ball in the 70th minute. The audience was convinced that Linus Fredriksson's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Pankracy Glogowski was relentless in the 71st minute of the game. Juan Carlos Alvarez made an important save on a dangerous shot by Anselmo Nevada in the 75th minute. In the 76th minute Linus Fredriksson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pankracy Glogowski saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as Anselmo Nevada kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Juan Carlos Alvarez. That made the score 1-4 in the 77 minute of play. Club Atlético Atlanta made a substitution. Benigno Abreu replaced Remigio Erramu. If Linus Fredriksson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Juan Carlos Alvarez showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Anselmo Nevada in the 83rd minute of the match. 85 minutes into the match, Club Atlético Atlanta's goal looked a bit too open when Linus Fredriksson came free, but Pankracy Glogowski reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A beautiful save bye Club Atlético Atlanta's goalie prevented a goal. The throw-in from Alfonso Goicoechea in the 95th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Marlin FC's Fernando Ciano. Linus Fredriksson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
