After taking down the ball on AC Sparta Plzeň's corner Roman Vrobel fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Big Saver quite easily take care of the ball. Sanderson Cabeleira recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 20th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a rather tough play, -BZF- Barca de Buzau's Maxim Lupașcu got a free kick in the 21st minute. After having played for 32 minutes, Sanderson Cabeleira managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. -BZF- Barca de Buzau's supporters crossed their fingers, but Sanderson Cabeleira was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 36th minute Sanderson Cabeleira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hans Ullrich saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. -BZF- Barca de Buzau were awarded a corner in the 38th minute after AC Sparta Plzeň's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Viorel Bungescu took the corner. The corner led -BZF- Barca de Buzau's Viorel Bungescu to fire away a dangerous shot which Hans Ullrich despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. After 39 minutes AC Sparta Plzeň's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Viorel Bungescu who took care of the corner kick. 41 minutes in the game Ondřej Maršál did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Osvald Rygl. After a defensive mix-up in AC Sparta Plzeň's zone, Marc Gol stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Hans Ullrich came out of the goal and Marc Gol tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Roman Vrobel stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Hans Ullrich showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jonathan Petersson, who was totally free with the ball in the 51st minute. In the 56th minute, Christan Benitez got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Hans Ullrich took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sanderson Cabeleira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Hans Ullrich made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sanderson Cabeleira in the 62nd minute of play. A collision led to AC Sparta Plzeň getting a freekick after 63 minutes play.
