Thanks to some nice moves Sören Bengtsson could shoot a difficult shot in the 14th minute, which Eric Soned however easily saved by the left post. When Nickolai Nickerson came up free with the goalie in the 17th minute, the Étoile Sportive Du Sahel fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Nickolai Nickerson couldn't finish the play. Eric Soned came out of the goal in the 21st minute to try and stop a shot by Independiente's Jorg Pieters. But to his dismay, Jorg Pieters quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. In the 33rd play minute Jorg Pieters came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Eric Soned. 2-1. Eric Soned took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Anastasio Iraitz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

In the 51stth minute of the game Anastasio Iraitz who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Étoile Sportive Du Sahel's Eric Soned was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Étoile Sportive Du Sahel made a substitution. Carlo Ancelotti replaced Morgan Möllgren. In the 57th minute Independiente were awarded a corner. Jorg Pieters went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner led Independiente's Jorg Pieters to fire away a dangerous shot which Eric Soned despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. 60 minutes into the match, Étoile Sportive Du Sahel's goal looked a bit too open when Emanuel Emander came free, but Eric Soned reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 67th minute of the match, Jim Njurenius got a very nice opportunity to score, but Chiquito Martinez was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Geovanni de Medeiros kicked well hit freekick during the 69th minute of the match. Independiente made a substitution. Benjy Benton replaced Jorg Pieters. After 74 minutes of play, Independiente's Benjy Benton made it 3-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Eric Soned was left in no man's land by his defense there! Benjy Benton scored 4-1 in the 79th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Eric Soned, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After some careless play in the Étoile Sportive Du Sahel defense, Flavio Laurgain kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Eric Soned. The Étoile Sportive Du Sahel fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Eric Soned should have stopped the shot. In the 89th minute, Benjy Benton made a precise shot to the right of Eric Soned. Étoile Sportive Du Sahel's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 6-1. 92 minutes into the game, Independiente's Benjy Benton nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Eric Soned made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 7-1. The supporters of Independiente booed when Étoile Sportive Du Sahel was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 95 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vladimir Capixaba didn't get a good kick on the ball.
