With an all-out effort, Garanhão do SUL's Nebojša Jerić threw himself towards the right post 39 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Torcato Rebocho, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. In the 46th minute Velimir Vizek shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ignatius Casasola saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Edgar Costa to strike the kick off in the second half. Ignatius Casasola tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Albano Leizarraga fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nebojša Jerić having to interfere.
