When the match had gone on for 16 minutes, Edmílson Prata put it in 0-2 from a short distance just to the right of Rhys Dimmock. 19 minutes into the match, Korona Kielce's goalkeeper Gary Ingram had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Daron Joseph. 21 minutes into the match, Zamalek FC's goal looked a bit too open when Edmílson Prata came free, but Rhys Dimmock reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Gary Ingram was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Reese Otto showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-2 in the 23 minute of play. 30 minutes into the game, Reese Otto recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Gary Ingram. Reese Otto showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-2. Mugurel Balaeț received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Zamalek FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Stephen Duxbury was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-3. When the match clock showed 40 minutes, the score became 4-3 when Reese Otto sped through Korona Kielce's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Gary Ingram. In the 43rd minute, Diogo Queirós hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Gary Ingram was a little too slow when Sergey Krasinskiy got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 47th minute. The score was now 5-3.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Roberto Firmino was the one to do the kick off. Gary Ingram made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sergey Krasinskiy in the 54th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Edmílson Prata got free with Rhys Dimmock in the 57th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 59th minute Reese Otto shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gary Ingram saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Reese Otto spun around in front of the goal 59 minutes in the game, and got away a shot that, to his disappointment, went to the left of Korona Kielce's goal. Rhys Dimmock showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Roberto Firmino, who was totally free with the ball in the 64th minute.
