Silverio Ekialdes short, quick shot in the 32ndth minute got Ceyhan Süleymanoğlu to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. After a defensive mix-up in Estudiantes FC's zone, Sadri Battal stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nemesio Geleberto came out of the goal and Sadri Battal tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When the match clock showed 37 minutes, the score became 0-2 when Gökhun Cevar sped through Estudiantes FC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Nemesio Geleberto. Nemesio Geleberto showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sadri Battal, who was totally free with the ball in the 42nd minute. Hermengildo Aguilera received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 43rd minute. Ceyhan Süleymanoğlu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.
