Estudiantes FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Iosif Iorgu was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Valentin Manu came out of the goal in the 5th minute to try and stop a shot by Estudiantes FC's Silverio Ekialde. But to his dismay, Silverio Ekialde quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. Hermengildo Aguilera sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Estudiantes FC's Hermengildo Aguilera was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 14th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. A hard shot by Donato Pudes from long distance, 32 minutes into the match, got Valentin Manu's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hermengildo Aguilera in the 33rd minute of play forced RAPID 1923's goalkeeper Valentin Manu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Iurie Dimofte in the 35th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Nemesio Geleberto prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Estudiantes FC's Nemesio Geleberto played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Iosif Iorgu in the 39th minute of play. Valentin Manu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Silverio Ekialde, who was totally free with the ball in the 43rd minute. 45 minutes into the match, RAPID 1923's goalkeeper Valentin Manu had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Silverio Ekialde. After some careless play in the RAPID 1923 defense, Silverio Ekialde kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Valentin Manu. The RAPID 1923 fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Valentin Manu should have stopped the shot.

The wind increased when Iurie Dimofte made the kick off in the second half. Iosif Iorgu recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 51st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Valentin Manu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Silverio Ekialde in the 56th minute of the match. The audience was convinced that Silverio Ekialde's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Valentin Manu was relentless in the 58th minute of the game. After some fancy dribbling in the 63rd minute, Silverio Ekialde managed to get in a good position for a shot. Estudiantes FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Silverio Ekialde was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Valentin Manu breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Valentin Manu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Silverio Ekialde, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 68 minutes into the game, Astor Brais was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Estudiantes FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave RAPID 1923 the free kick. The supporters of RAPID 1923 booed when Estudiantes FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 70 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hector Jenaro didn't get a good kick on the ball. A collision led to Estudiantes FC getting a freekick after 78 minutes play. Astor Brais hit a great ball. Nistor Bărbuceanu's shot from long distance in the 79th minute was not bad at all, but Estudiantes FC's Nemesio Geleberto knew what was happening and pushed the ball into his arms just before it hit the right post. When Estudiantes FC's Hermengildo Aguilera in the 80th minute got a chance for a shot 80th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Hermengildo Aguilera in the 87th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Valentin Manu saved RAPID 1923 from getting behind. In the 87th minute, Valentin Dășanu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After having played for 88 minutes, Silverio Ekialde managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Estudiantes FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Silverio Ekialde was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. A collision led to Estudiantes FC getting a freekick after 90 minutes play. Ezequiel Bastian hit a great ball. After recieving a nice pass, RAPID 1923's Nistor Bărbuceanu tried to score from far away in the 91st minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. In the 92nd match minute, RAPID 1923 was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Adam Ghinescu to maneuver through the defense.
